How to introduce ‘My Needs - Clothing'

Nowadays we observe the evolution of dress from natural occurring fibres like – Cotton, Silk, Wool dresses to modern modified and Synthetic fibres like – Nylon, Rayon, Polyester and other modern dresses; covering from classical dresses to fashionable skirts, Shorts and other modern garments. Did you ever stuck thinking –

• Why do we wear clothes?
• What is the need of wearing clothes?
• Why we wear different types of cloths in different months of the year?
Need of Clothing

We wear Pants, Skirts, Shirts, and Suits etc to protect our body from cold, hot and rains or to display societal decency. We wear different types of clothes to adjust to the weather we experience or to the cultural needs of a society.
• Why you wear sweaters to the school in the winter season?
• Why don’t you wear sweaters and jackets in the summer season?
• Why you wear rain suits in rainy season?
• What type of cloth is used in making Umbrella?
Types of Clothes

1. We wear sweaters in winter because they protect us from cold weather as they are thick and don’t allow air to pass through it. These clothes are made up of Wool.
2. In summer we wear light clothes that help air pass through and keep our body cool as it will be hot in the summer. These clothes are made up of Cotton as it lets air pass through and absorbs our body sweat as it absorbs liquids easily.
3. We use rain suits in the rainy season as suits are waterproof and are made up of different fabrics like – Nylon, Polyester and Wool.

The umbrellas are made up of Nylon fabric with Acrylic coating. When the clothes are made for protection and to display decency, then –
• Why do we wear School Uniforms?
• Why does Police wear only Khaki colour dress?
Clothes as Identity

• How do you identify a higher-class student at your School?
• How do you identify a Police Officer?
In two cases of identifying higher grade student and Police Officer we look at their dress and identify the person or his relation to the dress he wears. So, here we use clothes for identifying a specific person or groups.
Recent Developments in Modern Clothing

Coupling of Clothing and technology has raised a new perspective in the production of clothes. Today we are witnessing the t–shirts with cooling technology called Tech Shirts. These t-shirts help athletes to cool down their body quickly with help of specially designed absorbent system (Capillary Action). This helps athletes to improve their performance and for hassle free practice. You may have heard of Indian cricket team changing its dress for world cup 2019.

The changed dress includes a modern cloth technology called ‘Dri – Fit’. Dri-FIT technology is an innovative polyester fabric designed to help keep you dry so you can more comfortably work harder, longer. Dri-FIT’s unique high-performance microfiber construction supports the body’s natural cooling system by wicking away sweat and dispersing it evenly throughout the surface of the garment so that it evaporates quickly. This also makes the garment weightless and makes it easy for dynamic body movements.
