Viscosity Of Fluids

Principle: Viscosity is a measure of the resistance of a fluid to deform under shear stress. It is commonly perceived as "thickness", or resistance to flow. Viscosity describes a fluid's internal resistance to flow and may be thought of as a measure of fluid friction

Applications:It is a physical property to differentiate various types of viscous fluids.

Items Required to make:
Glass Tubes (two)
Water (thin fluid)
Caster oil (thick fluid).
Iron Balls

Fun Facts to know: The fluid which has no resistance to shear stress is known as an ideal fluid or inviscid fluid. Viscosity is measured by using Viscometer.

Puppet-Centrifugal Force

Principle:A puppet is a representational object of a human character. It has arms and legs. When we rotate the axle of the puppet the arms and legs goes outwards from the axle because of Centrifugal Force.

Applications:
It is used in Mari-go-rounds and in other places. Puppet can also be used to know the concept of Centrifugal Force.

Items Required to make:
Cycle Spoke (one)
Card board sheet
Threads for arms and legs

Things To Know:

Centrifugal Force: When the force of attraction of a body is acting outwards, then it is called as Centrifugal Force.
Centripetal Force: When the force of attraction of a body is acting inwards, then it is called as Centripetal Force.
