Match Stick Riders

Principle: Match Stick Riders are made by using a match box and a thread. The thread is connected to the match box as shown in the figure. These are works on the principle of Friction.

Applications:
Walking, holding, eating, etc etc. are all possible only because of friction

One Match Box
Thread of 5 to 10 meters
Small pin

Things To Know: Friction is the force between two surfaces rubbing together. It is high if the surfaces are dry and rough and it is low if the surfaces are smooth and wet.

Motion Picture

Principle: It is a picture that shows the changing of pictures very gradually from one page to the next. This effect is known as “Persistence Of Vision” - whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed.

Applications:
Films, Animation Pictures are originated from Motion Pictures. Film is a term that encompasses individual motion pictures The visual elements of cinema give motion pictures.

Items Required to make:
Cycle spoke (one)
Pen to draw the motion pictures on the paper
White paper
One thick chart.


Fun Facts To Know: Traditional films are made up of a series of individual images called frames. When these images are shown rapidly in succession, a viewer has the illusion that motion is occurring. The viewer cannot see the flickering between frames due to an effect known as Persistence Of Vision.
