“The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals.”
--- Melody Beattie
New Year is upon us. And with it come new beginnings and fresh hope. Wish you all a very happy new year.
It is time to take stock and see what can be done differently and what can be improved, with regard to the way you are teaching, the way you are examining the students, the way you are instilling a love for learning in your students, the way you are a role model for the students in every sense of the word.
Students are sensitive and imbibe the vibes sent out by you as you go about your job of teaching them. So, it is very important that you be fired up, enthusiastic, and eager to share the knowledge with the students.
We would like to draw your attention to two initiatives, which you can take advantage of:
(1)TeacherSITY, and (2) PrincipalsFORUM.
TeacherSITY (www.teachersity.org) is an empowerment movement for K12 teachers all over the country. Policy makers, Examining Boards, School administrators, principals and teachers have come together to lead the Teacher Empowerment movement. TeacherSITY is an organised and structured approach towards Teacher Empowerment. Please visit their website to avail of their many offerings and conferences.
PrincipalsFORUM (www.principals.in) was launched by Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Hon’ble Minister of State, MHRD, during National Conference of School Principals, 2012. PrincipalsFORUM has been specially created for the principals to share their thoughts, ideas, experiences, solutions and challenges by presenting them in the form of articles, blogs and mails. First of its kind in India, this web portal has been designed to function as forum for interaction, reflection and collaboration to address the needs and concerns of school principals and function as a one stop window for all the needs of the school Leaders (Principals). We encourage you to visit their website and see what’s on offer.
Best Regards, D. Samarender Reddy
