Teacher Training Programme Hands-on learning is still a niche area in India. Although widely used in most developed nations, most Indian schools still advocate learning by rote. Changing the mind set of teachers and making them aware of the benefits of hands- on teaching is, therefore, of utmost importance in our pursuit of interactive learning. We conduct regular workshops for teachers to discuss the relevance of hands on learning. Our interactive workshops demonstrate how activities can be used as an effective means of teaching and encourage teachers to promote this form of pedagogy. Our training programs for teachers: • Start with an activity to introduce the concept of hands-on learning • Provide creative ideas to make teaching more student-friendly • Demonstrate methods of teaching through activities and show how they can be integrated into the regular curriculum • Identify issues in implementing hands-on learning and explore possible solutions Other content of the Workshops • Discussions on the common misconceptions of students (topic wise, grade wise) • Ideas about handling those misconceptions with activities to lay a stronger foundation • Sample Experiential Aids • Activity kits • Hands on activities • Toy-making, model- building • Role plays • Charts and other exhibits • Games based on a specific topic • Flash cards • Videos / Photographs • Ideas for creating activities linked to curriculum using commonly available low cost material, such as:
